Welcome to She’s Saved!

I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Kanisha and I’m a writer, poet, author, and minister. I’m passionate about God, ministry, churchin’, and sharing the love of God. Here I write about faith, music, natural hair, and anything else that comes to mind! I have an awesome support system: my mother, grandmother, four sisters, and an incredible church family. But long story short: I’m just a girl who loves God. And words.

I started writing when I was seven years old. (My first story was actually a modern-day version of Little Red Riding Hood!) I went on to win an award for the story and since that moment, writing became like second nature for me. When I was ten, I discovered that writing was a gift God had given me, and I started writing Christian poetry. Naturally, I continued writing all throughout high school, and upon graduation, I self-published my first book of poetry, entitled, “Love Letters from the Master.” (My second book is coming soon!)

I then went on to receive my Bachelor’s in English with a focus in Creative Writing. After graduating in 2014, I threw myself into ministry and haven’t looked back. In my spare time, I wrote, and and was blessed to become a guest blogger at BlackNaps and CurlyNikki. Writing for those outlets allowed me the opportunity to learn so much about the world of blogging, and I decided it was time to dive starting my own.

I started researching sites that were geared towards young Christian women; I soon noticed a lack of diversity, and that there were many topics I was curious about that weren’t being discussed. So I created She’s Saved to provide an outlet for young Christian women to interact, learn, and grow in their love for God.

My hope is that we can all connect and inspire one another to strive for God and to show the world what being a Christian is really all about.

God Bless!
Kanisha
